Looking for an opportunity to gain valuable INGO experience? Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (HFHV) is a nongovernmental shelter organization providing low cost housing, water and sanitation solutions to marginalized households. HFHV aims to ensure “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.” To help them achieve this, they are looking for a communications volunteer (or intern) to work in either their HCMC or Hanoi office.
Job description:
The candidate can either volunteer part-time or if they prefer, accept a six-month full time internship. The candidate’s role includes, but is not limited to:
– supporting the resource development and communications department with website administration, marketing activities (e.g. events), internal and external communications (e.g. newsletters), writing articles, taking photographs and other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
– sense of humour and flexibility
– good command of both spoken and written English
– good communication skills, computer literature (full MS Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe InDesign, etc.)
– Vietnamese or international candidates living in Vietnam are welcome to apply (sorry, they are not able to pay for relocation expenses)
Key Responsibilities:
– supporting resource development and communications manager
– ongoing website and social media administration
– writing articles, press releases, etc. / taking photos
– planning and designing marketing materials (e.g. brochures)
– internal and external communications (e.g. newsletters)
– perform other related work as required
Requirements:
– university Bachelor degree (or final-year student)
– fluent in English
– highly attentive to details and deadlines
– able to work autonomously and take initiative
– previous experience volunteering (or working) for an INGO would be an asset
– confident working with a multicultural team
Allowance
For a six-month contractual internship a small monthly honorarium will be paid. Volunteers will not be paid; however, approved work-related expenses will be reimbursed.
Time
Part-time or full-time for a volunteer (negotiable).
Full-time for an intern.
Location: Hanoi or HCMC
