CARITAS Switzerland is an international non-government organisation, supporting some of the poorest communities in Vietnam to build sustainable livelihoods.
We began a long term partnership with the People’s Committee of Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Province since 2003, to support an integrated community development project. The phase I is ended in 2009 and now started the phase II (2009-2013) which continues the main following components: sustainable agriculture, community tree planting and forest management, propoor tourism, domestic water supply, adult literacy, hygiene and environmental awareness, alternative energy and social services for the poorest. We are now looking for a Senior Project Co-ordinator who will take the role of the Quan Ba project teamleader. He/she is required to lead a project support team which consists of 7 staff.
We invite applications from Vietnamese citizen candidates with the following qualifications and experience.
• Extensive rural development working experience, minimun 5 years.relevant work (Preferred areas of experience are upland agriculture and community development with ethnic minorities in the northern mountainous region. Work experience with an
international development agency or NGO is an advantage but is not essential.)
• Commitment to participatory approaches to development
• Ability to work successfully with a range of partners including villagers, government and non-government agencies, national and international agencies
• Ability to motivate and manage a small team
• Maturity and creativity
• Commitment to addressing the needs of the rural poor.
The position is based in Quan Ba District, with approximately 30% of time spent in Hanoi. Salary and benefits are according to ability, experience and qualifications.
