The East Meets West (EMW) is an American humanitarian services organization working in Vietnam for 22 years. EMW is one of the largest and most productive humanitarian development non-government organizations in Vietnam.
The East Meets West’s Breath of Life (BOL) program develops customized, clinical solutions to significantly reduce neonatal mortality and morbidity in developing countries.
The program is now serving as an adaptable model for neonatal health programs in the countries of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and East Timor, where the program is currently being implemented.
In framework of its program, Breath of Life provides custom-designed, low-cost equipment to hospitals, and targeted training to medical personnel, to save the lives of infants suffering from common newborn pathologies. To ensure sustainability, BOL works to strengthen linkages with local health authorities to involve them in integrating these technologies into the larger health system.
At present, the program is seeking one vacancy in Ha noi Office. The duration of the internship will last six months. After that, a performance evaluation for each trainee will be done by the Breath of Life Clinical Director, which would be a good reference for interns to find job. The interns will be paid the internship allowances during their on-the-job training services.
Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Provide support to BOL communications (including soft/hard filing system, data input/collection)
Provide admin and logistical support to program activities
Daily support to other office work when required
Participate in field trip with BOL team when needed
Intern qualification and requests:
New graduates from universities/colleges, preferably in health, education and community development studies.
Eager for learning and progress.
Team building spirit, good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills in English and Vietnamese and Good computer skills
