WWF, one of the world’s largest independent conservation organizations, has a global network active in 100 countries. From its Greater Mekong Programme Office in Hanoi, WWF manages a wide array of conservation projects in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Thailand in the forest, freshwater, marine/coastal and species priority areas.

WWF Vietnam Country Programme is seeking an experienced and qualified national candidate to fill two positions of RATTAN PROJECT ASSISTANT and RATTAN FIELD PROJECT COORDINATOR working full time for a WWF project in Quang Nam Province. The forestry officer is required to travel frequently to Hue province, Vietnam.

1. RATTAN FIELD PROJECT COORDINATOR
Major duties and responsible:
The Field Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and WWF supporting team in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the EC supported project activities “Establishing a Sustainable Production System for Rattan Products in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam” supported project activities. This will include the monitoring and supervision of all counterparts related to the project and the management of an activity budget. Project activities will involve in regular trips to remote field locations to support the field surveys, workshops and meetings.

The Field Coordinator will provide technical assistance to the EC supported project on activities related to rattan resources management, production, processing and marketing and community based forest management group.

The main qualifications required:
● A degree in a field related to Forestry and Community Based NRM
● Additional courses on project management and business and marketing are an advantage
● Good English (writing and speaking) is required.
● Minimum 7 years experience on forestry project at the community based and project administration and management.
● Willingness to travel to remote locations, and work in two-three provinces.
● Proven ability to negotiate, liaise and communicate effectively with governmental organizations and other local stakeholders.
● Experience of working in multi-disciplinary team management
● Familiarity with Vietnamese ethnic minorities’ culture in the project area and local resident is preferable
● Writing and speaking in Vietnamese and English languages
● Computer (Word, Excel, Internet, Email)
● Speaks English at a medium to high level

2. RATTAN PROJECT ASSISTANT

Major duties and responsible:
The Project assistant will provide support to the Field Project Coordinator to implement and monitor activities relating to rattan
resources management, production, processing and marketing and community based forest management group.

The main qualifications required:
● A degree in a field related to Forestry and Community Based NRM
● Additional courses on project management and business and marketing are an advantage
● Good English (writing and speaking) is required.
● Experience on forestry project at the community based and technical field.
● Willingness to travel to remote locations, and work in Nam Giang District (Quang Nam province).
● Willingness to learn new experiences
● Team spririt and communication skill.
● Familiarity with Vietnamese ethnic minorities’ culture in the project area and local resident is preferable
● Writing and speaking in Vietnamese and English languages
● Computer (Word, Excel, Internet, Email)
● Good English level

Duty Station: WWF Project Office in Tam Ky, Quang Nam province with frequent travel to Hue province.
