FAMILY HEALTH INTERNATIONAL (FHI) is an international non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, other ministries, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese population, particularly vulnerable and disenfranchised groups. FHI is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment; clinical research for the development of vaccines and drugs for infectious diseases; tobacco control; and laboratory strengthening.
We are currently seeking qualified, experienced and highly motivated Vietnamese nationals to join FHI/Vietnam for the following positions based in Hanoi:
1. Senior Program Officer – Voluntary Counseling and Testing
The position will be responsible for developing and monitoring HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing projects supported by FHI and providing management guidance and technical assistance to ensure that projects follow workplan targets, achieve technical requirements and complete deliverables in accordance with FHI policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and abilities:
• Medical doctor or Bachelor in Canadian Pharmacy, preferably a Masters degree in social sciences or public health field
• Two years or comparable experience in the design, implementation and management of HIV/AIDS counseling and testing programs.
• Knowledge of health education and development programs and interventions in Vietnam.
2. Program Officer – Care and Treatment
The position will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, support, and treatment projects supported by FHI. In addition, each of these positions will be a focal point for their respective technical areas in (1) Nutrition, Social Support and (2) Pediatrics and Prevention-of-Mother-to-Child-Transmission (PMTCT).
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and abilities:
• Medical doctor, preference for specialization in infectious diseases with knowledge of HIV clinical care and ARV treatment
• Two years or comparable professional experience in providing medical care, preferably to people-living-with-HIV (PLHIV). Demonstrated skills and knowledge in holistic and client-centered care
3. Program Officer – Clinical Research
The position will be responsible for monitoring clinical trials and other health related research, including provision of site training and oversight; implementation of activities required to start clinical studies as well as on-going activities to support and oversee trial activities to ensure that clinical study activities are conducted properly and meet all applicable regulatory requirements including compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and abilities:
• Medical doctor or Bachelors in public health, pharmacy or nursing; preferably a Masters degree in public health, clinical epidemiology or health related field;
• Two years relevant work experience and professional knowledge and expertise in GCP and research implementation.
General requirements for all positions:
• Experience and knowledge in health or development programs, preferably in the area of the specific position.
• Ability and enthusiasm to learn new areas and willingness to contribute to a dynamic team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
• Experience with computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and the Internet.
• Work experience with NGOs/INGOs is preferred but not mandatory.
