JOB TITLE: Project Officer
LOCATION: Hanoi
ORGANIZATION PURPOSE: To improve the quality of life for all in Hanoi and other cities of Vietnam. Our work focuses on the environment, social development and creative urban living. (see www.vidothi.org )
JOB PURPOSE: To manage the implementation of the project related to empowering residents in Hanoi to live increasingly sustainably.
REPORTING TO: Program Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Project assistant
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Planning and implementing activities of the project related to empowering residents to live increasing sustainably and to take actions to improve their neighborhoods.
2. Financial management
3. Maintaining good relationships with local partners and local authorities
4. Ensuring program quality such as participation, equity, transparency
5. Monitoring, reporting and evaluating
6. Act as interpreter/translator when necessary.
7. Be a member of Action for the City’s team; participate in staff meetings, planning sessions and on-going learning as needed.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
1. University degree in development studies, education and other relevant discipline
2. Experience working in development projects, preferably in projects related to training and empowerment
3. Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
4. Strong willingness to learn
5. English language skills are a plus
