PROJECT OFFICERS FOR HIV AND GENDER PROJECT
CARE in Vietnam is a Non-Government Organization representing the CARE International network. CARE in Vietnam is a creative and dynamic organization, working with Vietnamese partners in the sectors of health, rural development and disaster mitigation and preparedness.
CARE in Vietnam (CVN) is looking for experienced and qualified Vietnamese nationals to fill the positions of Project Officer within a three years project which aims to have a positive impact on the physical, social, and economic well-beings of men and women associated with government-run “treatment and education centres” for sex workers and drug users (05/06 centres). The successful candidates will be based in either Can Tho or An Giang Province and will work in close partnership with the 05/06 centres, provincial government departments.
Major responsibilities:
Assist Project Manager to:
– Carry out the project design phase
– Prepare daily financial and administrative work and procedures
– Liaison with the staff of partners, local authorities and other agencies for coordination and capacity building
– Manage the recruitment and contract of consultants
– Develop training and IEC materials
– Prepare, organize and actively participate in the project activities
– Conduct regular monitoring visits to ensure the quality and progress of work undertaken by the project partners
– Prepare all the project reports
Selection criteria:
– At least 1 year experience in community-based health projects
– Good interpersonal communication, training and facilitation skills
– Good written and spoken English skills
– Ability to work effectively as a team member and with minimal supervision
– Willingness to be based in Can Tho or An Giang, with travel between the two provinces
– Good computer skills on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail applications
Desired:
– Research experience
– Working experience in HIV prevention, preferably with sex workers, drug users, and/or 05/06 Center residents
– Familiarity with and commitment to gender equity
